MATTEO RAGNI

He graduated in Architecture from Milan Polytechnic. In 1998 he founded the Aroundesign studio with Giulio Iacchetti. Together with Iacchetti, he won the Compasso d’Oro ADI award for the biodegradable cutlery set “Moscardino”, now part of the Permanent Design Collection at MOMA in New York.

Despite his many professional commitments as designer, art director and architect, he also serves as visiting lecturer at various universities.

In 2008, he won the 2008 Wallpaper Design Award for the Leti lamp, manufactured by Danese.

He recently appeared in the volume “Camparisoda, da Fortunato Depero a Matteo Ragni”, published to celebrate the centenary of Futurism.

He says about his own work:
“Design is an obsession rather than work, it’s not a job that you leave when you go home in the evening. Or at least that’s the way it is for me. And I’m pleased that it’s the same for those working with me.
I want people in this work space to find a way to grow as human beings, not just in the professional sense. I want them to weave relations here with me and their colleagues and then to move on from here to build a dialogue with the design world. And I want anyone passing this way even for just a moment to be able to perceive the pleasure of our work.”

Among his clients: Bialetti, Breil, Biò Fireplace, Caimi Brevetti, Campari, Coin Casa, Coop, Corian Dupont, Danese, Desalto, De Vecchi, Guzzini, JVC, Lavazza, Liv’it, Mandarina Duck, Meritalia, Mitsubishi, Navadesign, Pandora Design, Pinetti, Piquadro, Plank, Plust Collection, Poltrona Frau, Samsung, Suisse Lagenthal, Ti Voglio, United Pets, W-eye.
