KARIM AZZABI

 
Born in Milan (1957), he graduated in Psychology in London, then in Design and Architecture in Milan. He works in industrial design, collaborating with furniture companies such as Edra and the Sintesi Group, in the field of technology (Brondi and Mivar) and  lighting (Oceano Oltreluce and Artemide). He is a global image consultant for many Italian and international companies. In 1995, he founded Design Network, a Milan-based studio which concentrates on exhibit design.


He has worked with many companies over the years, including: Snai, helping to design over 500 Punti Snai betting shops, Snai bingo halls, and the global image of Snai Spa, Lavazza (points of sale, trade fairs, branded products and events), Microsoft (events and communications), Fnac Italia (stores, advertising, trade fairs and product design), Brembo (exhibit design and communications), Richmond Group (exhibit design and events), Milan City Council (events and communications) Province of Milan (events and communications), Palermo City Council (events and communications), Pasquale Bruni (flagships), Tod’s Group (events and communications), Oregon Scientific (events and communications).


He also plans and designs events and exhibitions including Necessario Indispensabile (Rotonda della Besana — Milan), I Codici di Leonardo (World Tour), Dreams, I sogni degli italiani in 50 anni di pubblicità televisiva, (Milan Triennale, February/May 2004), Milano, la fabbrica del futuro (Spazio Oberdan — Milan, March/June 2004) , Pertini, un Secolo di Storia Italiana (Palazzo della Ragione, September/November 2004), The Snippy World of New Yorker Fashion Artist (Spazio di via Savona, 56, Milan — to mark the presentation of the S/S 2006 collection for Tod’s).


He also planned and produced the set for the launch of the Lavazza calendars from 1999 to 2006. His most recent projects include the new premises of Piquadro, refurbishment of the Mercati Generali in Milan, design of the world’s tallest hotel and museum of desert culture in Qatar, and the design of a skyscraper in Shanghai.
