DESIGN OBJECTS
1960
Paulista coffee service, graphic design by Armando Testa. Paulista becomes a character as well as an instantly recognised name and suggestive product and logo. His face is a caricature of a Brazilian man with black moustache, red cheeks and a permanent smile which makes his eyes half close. He represents cunning, gaiety, exoticism and adventure. The entire campaign is one of the first examples of integrated communication.
