The San Pellegrino Awards: Lavazza’s Partner Chefs Triumph 27 aprile 2010
“The San Pellegrino Awards: Lavazza’s Partner Chefs Triumph”
An event marked by great visibility and solid results: in other words, the Oscars of world cuisine which brought the cream of worldwide haute cuisine to the British capital city. Lavazza was delighted that the top list of the 50 most representative restaurateurs in the world included two of its longstanding partners: Ferran Adrià’s El Bulli, which topped the ranking four times between 2002 and 2009, placed second this year (first place went to Noma in Copenhagen). Nevertheless, as an acknowledgement of the uniqueness of El Bulli’s winning streak, Adrià was named “Chef of the Decade” by Restaurant Magazine. But it was the sixth-place award that made Italian hearts leap with joy: Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana in Modena was named among the top ten, the highest position for an Italian restaurant in the history of the award. Once again, Lavazza reinforces its image of excellence and quality in this sector. “Creativity is art, and this art must be brought into recipes, made to feed the mind rather than merely filling the stomach,” said Massimo Bottura.
